Pacific Paint Tonga is the outcome of the vision Late Hon Baron Vaea had in late 1990's the years he was Minister of Labour, Commerce & Industries and later became Prime Minister of Tonga. A widely travelled person who has seen varies changes and developments taking place in the South Pacific Region. Import substitution, local Manufacturing and jobs for local people in the Industry and having some-thing made right here in Tonga for our people were the compelling ideas that led a small group of six people to form a team that translated into a Company - Pacific Paint (Tonga) Ltd. Incorporated on 23rd September 1997.

The Company - Pacific Paints (Tonga) Ltd. started the operations to manufacture House Paints in October 1997 at their premises in Small Industries Centre in Nuku'alofa. It was tough in first year to gain Pacific support while competing against Imported Big Brands from New Zealand, Australia, USA and Fiji. But quality, Service and being there in shortest time got public acceptance as well the acceptance from Architects and Building like Fletcher Royco, Ca'Bella Pacific, Kiwi Tonga, Five Star Group Construction, Oregon Pacific International. By the year 1999 Pacific Paint were well established in Tonga with 55-60% of market share.

In 1997 Pacific Paint took a step in Exports and started regular Exports to Western Samoa. Thereafter American Samoa and New Zealand were added. Most of the iconic Buildings in Tonga are Coated with PAcific Paint's Products - either as New Building or during the course of maintenance painting.
